Hey everyone!

In late April I'll be making a short (Thursday-Sunday) vacation trip to Chicago with my sister.

We're making an itinerary now, but I was wondering if anyone could throw out some hotel recommendations (potentially along the river/have a river view) for us to look into? I know my sister likes the general area around Trump's tower there.

We'd like for $200-$300/night but this is definitely flexible both ways, we could go higher or lower.

I'm currently looking at hotels myself but it's always nice to get real-time opinions from others.

Thank you!

There is a Westin hotel on the river not far from Trump Tower. Have no idea what the rates are though.

Address: 320 N Dearborn St, Chicago, IL 60654
Phone (312) 744-1900

Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront

Ask for a room with River view. This is close to Trump Tower too.

And grab some pizza next door at Bella Bacino's.

Drake Hotel
140 E Walton Pl.
Chicago, IL 60611
312-787-2200

It's located in on the north end of River North. I've attended swing dancing events in their bar on a few occasions. I loved it; you can just feel the history there. Rates run for $105+taxes on third-party sites. Rooms should be good, save for problems associated with most old buildings. (low water pressure, not enough outlets, etc.)

The Drake is likely more than $105/night and will not provide a river view given its location off the end of the Mag Mile.

I really liked the athletic association hotel and the London House. Both beautiful places. I've heard the Robey in Wicker Park is also fabulous if you're looking for something hip in a neighborhood.
