Just wondering what the best online sites are for someone looking for a job in the Investment Banking area for Chicago. Is it like other places where Recruitment firms are the main initial point of contact? And if so, anyone know the best ones?

I think more firms in Chicago place ads themselves than hiring a recruiting firm. Recruiting firms do have a niche and you should definitely register with several. I'd check careerbuilder and the local newspapers. The Chicago Tribune publishes more help wanted ads than the Sun-Times does.

Call an investment banking firm, or several, ask to speak to someone in their Recruiting Department or a managing partner, etc. and ask them which firms they use to recruit. Then move forward from there. Companies are always looking for employees. Most will tell you their recruiting sources. This will save you gobs of time.
