Does anybody know of any blue collar jobs that have no education requirement that a person could do in downtown Chicago? Any help would be very much appreciated.

There are a lot of painters and construction workers downtown. Those all require some sort of license I believe. Do you have anything like that? Otherwise, I'm not sure there will be a ton of options. Amazon is hiring 2k+ workers, but that is in Joliet. Also some manufacturing gigs on the south side that probably could use stable/driven people. Allegedly there's a shortage of 20k laborers in Chicago.

That's really stupid why some blue collar jobs require an education. My H.S. buddy started out as a dishwasher at St Eliz Hospital, and they trained him on how to draw blood... No Phlebotomy degree and he ended up buying a HOUSE...

Credentialism is not only stupid, it's economically destructive. It keeps labor idle that wants to work, in exchange for erecting barriers to getting a job that favor those from privileged backgrounds.

Does your (OP) definition of blue collar work include only the trades, factory work, or physical labor?

Most jobs are in the service sector and are low paying. However there are a considerable number of factories or warehouses around if you know where to look. There are a bunch of small steel companies around, and yes, a lot of construction type jobs where they hire day labor as helpers, etc. That's where you do the grunt work for more skilled people but sometimes you can move up.

You might need some political clout for those. See your Alderman.
