It's the Van Buren and State stop. [That's what Google Earth is telling me anyway) (Across from the Fisher Building)

Oh yeah. Missed the 's'.

So this is where you plan on living, not working Chris?

I'll be working there, The Fisher Building is RIGHT THERE but it's out of my price range.

Yeah, it's pricey. A coworker of mine used to live there.

Here's the thing, though. Chicago is a city of neighborhoods. You will honestly have more fun and be better off living in a neighborhood like the ones suggested. Lincoln Park. Lakeview. Wicker Park. Roscoe Village.

It's counterintuitive, but if you lived downtown you'd likely end up going to those hoods to hang out at bars, meet friends, etc.

You'd probably be bored there anyway, very little happens there at night.
But having the stop so close to work will make commuting very easy for you.

I lived in the city for 4 months over the summer. Will be apartment hunting here soon to plan on my move back in May.

When I moved to the city I did not know a single soul. The only person I knew was my boss.

I lived on the border of Uptown and Lakeview...4 blocks north of Wrigley Field. One of the plusses I learned about living in that area is that a lot of young people move there out of college. It's a very easy area to meet people and for our age group you can't beat the party scene.

I'd recommend Wrigleyville, Lincoln Park, or parts of Lakeview. Wicker Park is a very cool and hip area but I think for a new transplant to the area, the neighborhoods listed above would be a better fit.

That's just my two cents.
