does anyone have any connections/suggestions for employment opportunities in the apparel industry in chicago? i am moving soon to chicago and have applied to a few places but no leads yet..i have experience in fashion design,technical design,visual merchandising, and development...thanks!

I don't have any connections, unfortunately, but I highly recommend joining LinkedIn (linkedin.com) to network. You have to create a profile and be approved, but it's pretty quick. It's regarded as one of the best internet-based networking sites, so it's worth looking into! It's free, and has search features where you can search by region and industry, keyword (for example, you could type in the name of a company you're interested in, or even simply "fashion"), and also what people are interested in (i.e., you can search people specifically interested in hiring people!).
