i heard devon street is the place to be in. are there apartments there for around $400 to $600 with utilities included? i'm single so i can live in either a studio or a 1 bedroom apartment. which website is best to look for an apartment in devon street? some apartments do not advertise so anyone here know of one that is decent? i'm a musician as well but i don't get too loud to annoy neighbors, so i guess what i am looking for are either high rise apartments or something made of concrete with high ceilings. apartments with too much wood work such as wooden floors and stairs tend to make more noises and creaks.

600 for a studio with utilities included is about the lowest you'll be able to go. If you're looking into a highrise, then I suppose the part of Devon you're looking for is right along the lakeshore.

Check Craigslist and the Reader websites, they should give you very good coverage of that area. When are you moving, because once Loyola is out for the semester, more options open up. I love the area around Broadway/Loyola/Devon. Enjoy.

I think there are cheaper that can be found. (Perhaps not the most desirable though) I would say about 500 with utilities is the cheapest, even 450-475 without utilities can be found.(East of California only of course)

Most flats are made with wood floors, (which you can hear neighbors talking). I'd stay away from those if you're concerned about noise. I'd go for either a concrete loft, or a high-rise, (floors are made of concrete). Concrete lofts are the best, they are like bomb-shelters and usually have high ceilings.
