You moved from NY and you think that Jewel is expensive? Maybe fresh food is cheaper in NY because of the proximity to the sea? I couldnt tell you there.

Jewel is cheaper than most other grocery stores in Chicago except for Aldi (which does not have a large fresh selection),Sams Club (which you gotta buy in huge quantities and has no city locations),Costco,etc...I am not sure what you mean by a fresh market. Produce? Meat? Dairy?

There are not many neighborhood grocery stores left. So you kinda are limited. The independent large grocery stores like Treasure Island are going to cost way more than Jewel.

How is your new apartment? Do you like it so far?

Call Robert Half International. They have an office on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Tell them that you're looking for a direct hire position. They're a good outfit. Check out their website. They place all levels of accounting; cost, tax, CPA's, Comptrollers, CEO's, AP/AR, etc. They have about 7 offices in the Chicago area.

Try Addison search. My old roommate is a financial recruiter there. PM me if you want me to get in touch with him for you.

I was working with a firm called Superior Executive Search and also Red Valley Search Group before I hooked up with my old firm (KPMG). Check your pm for contacts and phone numbers.

The only other supermarket suggestions are Whole Foods (which is much more expensive than Jewel) and Trader Joes. Again, what do you mean by "fresh market." I also find it odd that you think Jewel is expensive from NYC.........
If you are shopping at the Jewel on Broadway, you could go over to the Jewel on Ashland (a bit south of Belmont). It has a bigger selection (and a huge parking lot if you have a car). Otherwise, you've gotten Dominicks, which is priced similar to Jewel. Treasure Island is also good, but again, if you think Jewel is expensive......
