Depends... one summer it was very hot, now it looks like we're having a cooler 70's weather.

Try Accuweather online. You can get temps for any year, past or present or even go forward a few months and it gives you the historic temp pattern and what it might be.

Very difficult to say with certainty. I'd expect anything from the mid-50's overnight to the upper 80's during the day.

September weather is the best. Its the best month we have in my opinion. Usually little rain with warm days and cool nights. Temperatures in the high sixties to low seventies and sunny. There is no better month.

September weather is nice - on average in the 70s, though 80s isn't out of the question and neither is 60s. 50s during the night maybe - still usually sunny weather. September and October weather in Chicago is usually pretty good..

Early September highs are right around 80 and lows right around 60. It's a stable time of the year, probably mostly sunny.

Lately weather has been unpredicatable, both this summer and last have been unusually wet and considersbly cooler than recent history.

While going by "alamanac" type data generally suggests September to be pleasant it makes sense to bring a wide range of clothes as temps in the 50s or lower will be cooler than just "sweater weather" especially if things are wet and windy. At the other of the spectrum it is possible to get a late blast of heat and we could have temps in the 80s or 90s and you'll want to hit the beaches....

^How strict are they about people on the beach after September? Is it no swimming or no setting foot on the beach at all. I've seen people out there past September. Can you get in trouble? A ticket? What's the deal?
