Hi I just moved to Chicago in June and am haveing a really difficult time finding a reasonable Job. I have over 11 years of business experiance and have begun with various staffing agencies. Needless to say at time the fear and discuragement gets me down...I knew when I moved it would not be easy but i didnt realize it would take this long! I sold my car and now wonder when it's going to turn around...any suggestions or recomedations? Thank you all in advance for your thoughts!

No Degree, 11 yrs in the Mortgage Industry. (Given the current state of the Mortgage Market, I have adjusted my focus) Compliance, Risk Management, Operations worked for several CEO's, Attorney's and State and Federal Examiners...I have been looking actively since Aug. Networking is key. Thank you for asking.

haha. i just got out of the mortgage business after 8yrs, most recently selling for wells fargo. wow, did it get scary towards the end there. i haven't looked for a mortgage industry job for quite some time, so not too sure what to offer you in that regard. i got a job in PR and have started going back to school to finish the degree that i abandoned when i jumped into the mortgage business. it's really tough to find something even entry level without that bachelor's degree on the resume, as companies scan them and probably do not even consider the ones that don't list it. this might be a good time to get some loans and get the degree. it was a harsh slap in the face for me to not get called for interviews to crappy entry level jobs after i had just made 18k in one month selling loans for the second largest bank in the US.

try going on craigslist also. there are usually jobs on there that don't appear on hotjobs, careerbuilder or monster.com. i have typically found recruiters to be a huge waste of time. they lure you to their office for a face-to-face interview because they are required to have them to get paid, then they forget about you.
