The rain is a little much, but I do like the 50's and 60's we're suppose to be getting this week, and other than a few days that really stick out, the past few weeks haven't been THAT cold. I'm glad we're getting some sort of a spring, I feel like a lot of the time it just goes from 40 to 80 pretty quick.

To tbh cold doesn't really bother me. Gloomy weather and rain kill me though and February, March and April have been very gloomy months more so than usual.

Also while I don't mind the cold, after six months of it I am ready for it to go away.

Looks like after today, it's gonna start to FINALLY get nice. Thank God the weather is going to get better. It's making me gain weigh,t I get really hungry and lazy on rainy/gloomy days and have been eating horribly for the past few months and barely have made it to the gym which I am usually good about. While I can't blame it all on the weather, it certainly has contributed to me adding some pounds in the past few months.

My mother has lived in Chicago for about 30 years, and she told me in all her 30 years here, this has been the most depressing/worst spring she has experienced.

The ****ty and extended winter is almost everywhere. Its not just going on in Chicago, so I hope this doesnt turn into one of those anti-Chicago weather tirades, because its virtually going on everywhere.

In Upstate NY, we had snow flurries a few nights ago and in the upper 20s, and today it was in the lower 70s.

As you can see, bi-polar weather is rampant.

I was about dead set on moving to Chicago next month, but the extended ****ty weather really has me reconsidering (I thought being from Upstate NY I would be able weather, no pun intended, the seasons better in Chicago, since its more mild in comparison) and just saying **** it and moving to a warmer climate instead, but missing out on what Chicago offers.

Same here. We go from consistent cloud cover (roughly equal to the PNW) and lake effect snow to consistent cloud cover but switching over to rain.

Really, Upstate NY can be described as 9 months of clouds and snow/rain, 3 months of sun.

People settled this place and actually stayed, and I will never understand why.

Its not as if there are booming metropolises and exciting cities here.

We produce good hockey players, much like our brothers out in the upper plains.

There is a science aspect to the weather and its effect on us.

Lack of sun kills our immune systems, which already compounds the fact that in the winter time, we are more likely to get sick from being indoors with others and germs surviving longer in colder temperatures.

Your body also saves fat for insulation in colder months, which means, yes, you get a little fatter.

I dont mind a cold, dreary, rainy day once in a while, but I really dont understand the folks who prefer it entirely.

Could be worse. A friend of ours with a cabin up in Three Lakes says the chain is still iced over.

They say Vitamin D supplements help many people with those problems.

I actually lost weight in March, but only because I was sick for a good part of the month and couldn't eat. I'm now at the lowest weight I've been since my early 20s (30 years ago), and that's not necessarily a good thing.

The memory of the once-in-a-century spring last year isn't helping any ..but I remember more springs that were closer to this one than that one ..it's the wet and the cold .. needs to rapidly transition into a 'light -switch' summer . We had full trees, gardens blooming, and greenish-brown lawns this time last year ..
