Hi, I recently made up my mind to move to Chicago in the summer of 2008. I need help picking a side of town to live on. I am a 23 year old male i like to go out have a good time and enjoy night life but work comes first. I just graduated from Arizona State University so i like the college town atmosphere alot. I also like working out and going to different community events. When i move to Chicago i will be bringing my pride and joy which is my custom gmc sierra truck so paking is another issue for me as well. I would prefer somewhere that offered underground parking. Any suggestions on where to live???

If you like a college town atmosphere, consider Lincoln Park. It is home to DePaul University, so it can get a bit of a college town atmosphere, but is also home to many older post college age people as well. Lincoln Park has great nightlife, restaurants, shopping, and easy access to downtown. You will probably need to move to a high rise to get an underground parking garage, and parking will cost you, but Lincoln Park has many highrises near the lake that should have this. Hope this helps!

I think that Lincoln Park or Wrigleyville would be good for you. Just FYI, you are looking at probably $200 a month for parking in those areas and many places don't have underground parking....How much do you want to spend a month?

Agreed. Wrigleyville or Lincoln Park are your deal. There are truck restrictions in some areas of the city, but that's usually for trucks with commercial plates. Contact the city (311 in town. Not sure of the out of town number) for details.
