I agree. I think you should live near the Brown or Red Line. LCB is not the easiest to get to from the Blue Line neighborhoods. It requires that you take a bus and train. Not trying to scare you, but that commute isn't horrible but not the most convenient either. Lincoln Square can be pretty affordable and actually with a lot more to do tha Irving Park or Avondale.

This is all true, but is Lincoln Square really 2-bedrooms-for-$1000 affordable these days? I don't know, maybe it is, but I'd be surprised.

Lincoln Square west of Western is too blue collar and swarthily ethnic for transplants. Stay away, you won't like it.
