Is 5000 block of N. Ashland Ave a nice area of Ravenswood?

Argyle and Ashland
It's good.
Some gang activity.
But nothing wild.
(I'm talking from seeing the Lawrence and AShland area, not sure if those two blocks north make a difference in the neighborhood.)

The 5000 block on N. Ashland is a nice area. Lots of traffic though from Ashland. It is about three blocks from the Andersonville shopping district (5200 and Clark) so you have some nice places for restaurants and shopping if you like that. Parking for residents should be OK since I think there is permit parking in that area but visitors would need some stickers from you. Ashland itself has parking depending upon the time of day.

Very safe. I wouldn't want to live on Ashland due to traffice though.

Thanks, well, I manage to finally find an apartment. At first i found one in Andersonville but somebody grabed it before me. But this one is real nice and very close to both the red line and the Metra. I did check parking and I do need a special parking permit sticker in addition to my city sticker and they cost from what I understand $25.00. And the city sticker cost $75.00 for an average size car.
Regarding city sticker, doesn't it expire in June regardless of when you buy it? Do I still have to pay the full $75.00 if I move in on April 15th? only to turn around a spend another $75.00?

That is a nice area. Like others have stated, traffic can be annoying sometimes, but I don't think it's as bad as others have made it out to be. If anything, it's the traffic on Clark that can get extremely irritating.

I think Ashland is worse. Traffic can move faster which encourages more of it.

Well, I'm just basing it off experience. I take Ashland every day to Truman College, and the traffic gets a bit congested near Leland, but nothing too bad. OP seems to be more near Glenwood and Argyle, so I think the traffic at Clark poses more a problem.

Anyways, I don't live in the area, so I might not know what I'm talking about.

I always take Ashland to bypass the traffic on Clark, simply because Clark = 1 lane w/ multiple stop signs, crosswalks and foot traffic, whereas Ashland = 2 lanes and flows better with only traffic lights.
