So I will be moving to Chicago to attend school in the fall. While I'm waiting to hear back from my school's housing office I've decided to do some long distance apartment hunting. I live in VA and don't have family or friends in the area. Since I'm going to be a grad student I don't really want to live in student housing. How can I find an apartment that is willing to allow me to pay rent using student loans since I'm going to be a full time student? I plan on maybe visiting the week of July 23, is that too late to find somewhere before school starts in September? Thanks in advance for any help.

It's not too late.

Money is money, doesn't matter to the landlord where you got it.

Not too late -- any earlier and landlords wouldn't yet know what they have available.

As long as you can show you'll have the funds (and when you'll get them if they haven't yet dispersed) I don't think you'll have problems with many landlords.

Thanks for the help. Good to know I shouldn't have too many issues with finding a place.
