^^^ Exactly.

For all practical purposes they left for California decades ago and haven't been a real presence here since then. They're definitely going through a lot of problems, and will probably pass into history (along with Sears) within the next 5 years.

I wouldn't be too surprised if more profits are made from women buying clothing and accessories with the Plaboy bunny on it than men buying Playboy magazeines.

I'm pretty sure that is actually the case. They make a decent amount of money from licensing, especially when they had the show on E!. The magazine circulation is very very low.

Playboy leaving isn't a function of Chicago being bad, there really is just no reason for them to be here.

Playboy leaving the city behind makes sense.

Sadly I cant recall the last time I even purchased a magazine.
Let alone a Playboy.

AON jetting the Corporate HQ to London just seems off balance.
Typical of a CEO wanting to be in a different City.

I believe the same thing happend when Boeing moved here the CEO was in love with Chicago.

Bad move for AON.
I would speculate someday that company will be HQ back on American soil.

Aon leaving isn't a surprise at all. I was actually surprised they didn't move when they were acquired in 2008. London makes the sense for them (i.e. the Lloyd's market and connections to emerging markets).

From what I understand it was AON who acquired the other giant for 3 billion.
Now I had forgotten about this fact.

I do not know the history of Benfield but I would be interested in knowing the staff count for them in London.

So now this brings up a whole diff scenario , like what happens when the lease expires downtown.
