Straight to the point: I just came back from spending a week in Chicago for the first time and I can now see why everybody likes the city so much, it's an awesome place!

I read it many times before but I was still surprised to see and feel for myself how walkable it is, and how nice most people are. Even the weather was good! (we surely got lucky). It's a great town.

And with rents being rather reasonable for such a large city, at least for what I am used to, I am definitely putting Chicago as a potential destination within a year or two.

You got out just in time weather-wise. It snowed this morning.

The snow hardly amounted to anything, maybe a 1/2 inch. People do seem to forget how to drive during the 1st snow of the season. Some idiot took out one of my fairly young maples in the parkway overnight.

What I love about Chicago, is the good public transport system.
And the so many things to do, eat, and see.

I enjoy living here so far, living here for a month since I moved from Malaysia. And I'm loving the cold weather. People are great too.

Half an inch is just enough to turn the side streets into sheer ice, which is exactly what happened. We'd have been better off with 3 or 4 inches.
