Like in NYC they call themselves Nuyorican. I was wondering if any type of nickname had caught on for Puerto Ricans in Chicago?

I guess it would be harder trying to blend the words Chicago and Puerto Rican into something that sounded cool?

I did go to high school at Lane Tech with a Puerto Rican guy who used to sometimes wear a t-shirt that declared "¡Puerto Ricago!," making a portmanteau of the names of the home island and the destination city of so many. But I've never heard of anyone actually calling it that, or referring to an adjective or a demonym form of it, like puertorricagueño or something like that.

CAGO means "Took a ****" or "Pooped"

So anything ending with cago would make it sound like it has taken a dump.

Oh, yeah, you're right. It hadn't occurred to me that that slogan was meant to be a joke, but that would explain why you don't hear people using that portmanteau phrase more often.

Why would they??

Other ethnic groups don't have some nickname for themselves specific to the city they live in?

Besides Chicagos Puerto Rican population is much smaller than New Yorks population.
