for me, I would say Western, Division, Damen, and Grand, but I know that will be way too small for some people and, I'm sure, historically inaccurate for aficionados. I consider those kinds of borders arbitrary and fluid, but that's how I thought of the borders when I lived there.

East of Damen felt like West Town/East Village, West of Western felt like Humboldt Park, south of Grand felt like... I don't know but not Uk Village lol, and North of Division felt like Wicker Park/Bucktown.

The "official" borders are actually a bit smaller: Western to Damen and Chicago to Division. However, I'm inclined to agree with your definition. The area between Chicago and Grand is kind of neighborhood no man's land, and for all intents and purposes it is part of UV as well. The area to south of Grand is zoned PMD, so it's not supposed to be residential anyway.

E. Village is kind of the same, except the quarter mile square due east: Ashland-Damen + Chicago-Division, and again, you might as well lump the area between Grand and Chicago due south into EV.
