I can never eat another pizza except yours, again!

I was born and raised on the west coast, in Southern California. All my life I hear people say things like, "You can't get good pizza here, pizza in California is dog food next to pizza from Chicago..." blah, blah, blah, and so on. I always figured they were just full of hot air.

At 45 years old, I finally went to Chicago for first time.
I finally ate a deep dish pizza, a 'Malnati's Chicago Classic', to be exact.

I owe all of you an apology.
You were right all these years.
Why have I been such a fool?

That was the best pizza I've ever had. Sincerely. I don't see how I can ever be happy with the stuff I get around here again!

Besides the great food, I finally was able to visit Wrigley Field and wear my beloved Cubs Shirt surrounded by people who would appreciate it as much as I did.
Probably all of you are used to sitting in Wrigley and enjoying a ball game - but for me, walking up that ramp, and watching that ivy wall and that classic scoreboard, against what had to be the most beautiful spring day you could ask for (Memorial Day) - I almost cried. For real.
I have been to at least a couple hundred baseball games in my life, mostly at Anaheim Stadium, but this was special. I can't describe it, but seeing so many fans all wearing their favorite Cub-wear and united in their fandom - it was breathtaking.
Only disappointment was that I did not see a single Jody Davis shirt, but I guess I can forgive that.

Anyhow, thank Chicago. I will be back to eat your pizza and see another Cub game with you next summer!

Glad you enjoyed it!

Chicago style pizza is amazing, however you will be surprised how little often Chicagoans actually eat it. It's just too heavy. Most Chicagoans normally eat thin crust and then deep dish is more of a special occasion type of thing.

Yes, Wrigley is amazing!

Glad you enjoyed Chicago. There is something about a beautiful Chicago day -- perhaps because they can be so fleeting -- that truly is something special!

I agree, my guess is I have deep dish maybe 1 out of every 10 times I eat pizza.

Really? However, I still think people outside of Chicago, or maybe more so the Midwest, have this misconception that the only pizza that we eat or available in Chicago is deep dish.

Yep, it's my family's favorite. I would say eating any pizza more than once a month would be too much though. Regardless of pan or thin crust.
