I am participating in an event at the McCormick Center in May. Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced hotel near the center? I will be depending on public transportation. I have never been to Chicago and would appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you.

What is "reasonably priced" in your eyes?

I am looking for a clean, quiet hotel. I don't need all the bells and whistles since I will basically only sleeping there. Hopefully, I can do this under $150 - $200/night.

There is a Hyatt (I think) that is right across the street from McCormick place, though it might be more expensive because of that. The Congress hotel is on the south side of the Loop and about 2 miles from center. You can get there on the bus or on a Metra train (bus is probably easier).

If expedia or hotels.com or ping does not do it for you, try the cheapo Harrison Hotel for a low rate.

Unless if you are coming on Memorial Day weekend, the Congress and Allegro both have rooms for under $200.

If you are coming Memorial Day weekend, all bets are off.

Which is no longer called the Harrison Hotel. It is a Travelodge now:

Travelodge | Chicago Illinois Hotel | Chicago, IL 60605 | Near Grant Park, Millennium Park & Buckingham Fountain
