I am just saying I am not surprised, because the problems in that area tend to be caused by black gang members. I was not making a general comment of course that all harassing is done by blacks in Chicago.

What kind of harassing did they do?

Uh, well, to tell you the truth, I don't remember if there was a comment in that particular instance or not. I think there was, just something said in passing, but I don't remember. But sadly this is something that's happened maybe a half dozen times on our walks. We don't take them as much any more...I realized as I got older that I wasn't really being safe just thinking I could stroll around Chicago wherever I felt like it.

I used to ride drunk on my bike from my friend's house through Lincoln Park at like 2, 3AM. Man that was a hoot! It was also incredibly stupid, something I realized when I encountered gangs of like 20 kids hanging out by North Pond smoking blunts. "What's up guys?!"

Not in Kansas anymore Toto.

Guess I'm a cliche, I'm a lot more conservative now. Not a chicken little but just trying to stay out of harm's way.

It depends on what color you are. Skokie if your anything but white could be difficult to handle. They have anual KKK marches each year. Albany park is pretty mixed depending on where you live. near portage park is pretty good and the park is great.

What in the hell are you talking about? "Anual [sic] KKK marches?" "Anything but white could be difficult to handle?" Are you even remotely familiar with the demographics of Skokie?

You're not off to a good start on CD; maybe you should cancel your "membership"....

I do seem to remember a KKK rally in Skokie at one point but it was a reaction to the areas above average Jewish population not evidence of some entrenched redneck majority.
