I am talking about thugs who tow your car illegally, such as mis-stating the time of the tow zone, or lie about reasons for towing your car?

How do you deal with them? Does anyone have the urge to find out where the tow driver lives? I am steaming because my car was towed this week from downtown. Sign said tow zone until 6:30pm. So, I parked there at 6:32pm, after seeing multiple cars parking there already, but tow company claimed that it was 6:25pm when they towed my car.

Pay them. If you want to hire a lawyer after that, go nuts. Based on my experiences tow companies block the exits from the facility with large vehicles, have a few guys with shotguns visible, and are the most likely candidates to rule the Earth after the sh*t hits the fan. Pay the money and let a lawyer deal with any attempt to get your money back.

Are you sure you weren't going off of *your* time and not the *city's* time?

Either way, get a lawyer. Be ready to have evidence that you had your car towed after the fact. If you don't have evidence, you wont win the case. Good luck.

Best bet. Do what I do take the train downtown. Cuz if the tow dont get you, department of revenue or some meter maid will. Don't trust parking down there at all.

How about this--catch them in act again and record it with video. If they are as shady as suspected, they probably do it a lot. It will require your time and effort but you'll have the evidence.
