http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_...disambiguation)

This is a list of cities that have a college prep high school, many of them magnet schools that emphasize creative and performing arts such as theater, music, dance, etc.

I'm just curious, because Chicago is such a major center for arts and culture, but as far as I can tell there are no schools like this for kids in the Chicago area. Is there something like this just under a different name?

I remember when the school was being built, Curie H.S. was touted as having a program in the performing arts.
I wiki-ed it and here it is:

Does the above school really count? It's a private school.

If you're looking for a school like "Fame," this isn't it. Chicago doesn't have one, and I'm not sure why not.

I graduated HS in 1974.

Actually, Curie gets pretty high marks, I think it is rated a "silver" or "bronze" school, Chet.

The Walt Disney Magnet school actually best fits what I was thinking.
