I need to get to North Columbus Drive from Arlington Heights. Last time I went to the location, I ended up spending $40 on parking alone Google Maps tells me a path that contains boarding a Metra at Arlington Heights and then taking a bus at Chicago OTC metra.

I am planning to drive to one of the metra stations and board a train and would like to know what is the cheapest way to get to my destination. Not sure about the parking rates at Metra but any path that saves me some money is really appreciated.

How long will you need to park? There are two Metra stops in Arlington Heights. You may be able to find street parking if you don't need to park overnight.

I would just take the Metra and walk over from the train station to your destination. That would be the cheapest way no doubt.

Yeah, that's a pretty easy walk, weather permitting. About 10 minutes or so. Chances are you'd get there faster by walking anyway, unless a bus happens to roll right up to the stop as you approach it.

Park at Arlington Park; the downtown station doesn't have available parking.

At Ogilvie, board the #60 bus (northbound on Canal) to Randolph/Columbus, by Millennium Park. The hotel is a half-block north. For fun, you could instead ride the Wendella water taxi from Ogilvie to Michigan Avenue. The dock is about two blocks from the Fairmont.
