Hi everybody
We are planning a leisure trip to Chicago on the weekend of 4th July ( probably from Thursday till Monday ) and would like your input as where to go, what to see, attractions for that weekend ( Chicago and surrounding ) - two adults mid 30's. We will rent-a-car and plan to have a great time in your city.
We also want to visit some of your best Russian and Polish ( not much of that here in Houston) restaurants there. What's your recommendations?

I have spent several enjoyable vacations in Chicago, both with and without a car. If you plan to spend most of your time in the city, do yourself a favour and forget the car rental. I find having a car, especially in downtown Chicago, nothing but a liability. Chicago has marvelous public transportation.
