I'm considering a contract job in Deerfield but would keep current residence in Ohio.

It would only be myself, so I'm willing to sacrifice on retail amenities, schools, community activities, etc.

After reading previous threads, I am looking based on proximity at Wheeling, Buffalo Grove, and Lincolnshire, but it seems like maybe I could target a more minimal existence. I want to make sure I'm not missing something more affordable within the 15 minute radius of Deerfield.

Need a place with cheap ($600-900/month) studio/1BR apartment that is within 15 minutes of Deerfield. My criteria are:

1. Cheap
2. Safe
3. Quiet -- no railroads/airports within 1/2 mile.

Any suggestions? Your help would be most appreciated.

Thank you!

Lincolnshire doesn't really have any apartments, if they do, they won't be cheap. Buffalo Grove and Wheeling can be pricy, but you might be able to find a studio, for that price, more likely in Wheeling. Check out the Windbrooke on Deerfield Parkway in Buffalo Grove.

Another option is Prospect Heights for that price, but it might be a little unsafe compared to what you are used to.

Thanks for the information. I will look at the Windbrooke and Prospect Heights. Safety is important, but the area doesn't need to be fancy. I appreciate the input.
