I am looking to move to the far north burbs like Gurnee, Waukegan, Lake Bluff, possibly even Round Lake. I will be commuting up to Milwaukee.

I am interested in renting a house that takes small dogs and has a fenced back yard. Close to the highway is a plus.

If anyone can give me leads of apartment finders, realtors or the like, please do. Or perhaps even areas that have many rentals available.

Thanks.

I've had better luck with the newspaper in that area, or the Advertiser.....try the News Sun.

We just moved to area ourselves and are currently renting. A good website I used was www.ahrn.com. This is a good website for military families because there are so many military homeowners wanting to rent their houses because they are being transferred overseas and wanting to rent quickly as well. It also listed houses for rent in the WI areas like Kenosha and Racine.

Here are some other sites that we found that were informative and where we found our property to rent:

Home Rentals - Find Rental Homes Houses Condos For Rent.
MilitarybyOwner.com - Real Estate near U.S. Military Bases

Search for Apartments For Rent | Search for Houses For Rent | Apartment Rentals | Landlords
Search Resident Approved Apartments For Rent
Home Rentals, Homes for Rent, Apartments, Houses for Rent, and Rental Homes

Each these show the picture of the house/twnhme which is another good thing about them vs searching through the newspaper. I found that although the newspaper is a viable resource it can be very time comsuming to say the least especially if you are not familiar with the area. There is no picture so you waste time and gas traveling to view an area that turns out to be a dump although they have it advertised as spectacular.

We moved to Grayslake from a different state and unfortunately our schedule did not allow us the opportunity to come to IL and take a look around before we made a decision. So seeing a picture of the property first was an important factor for us. Nevertheless, we did find a property to rent and we are pleased with the property, neighborhood, and the city.

Thnks

Look at Antioch. Great town to live. Everyone has given you info on where to look(classieds) But I will tell you to stay away from Round Lake, Waukegan,Zion and NorthChicago. All these town have MAJOR Drug & Gang problems.
