It's nice, almost no crime, close to everything. Plenty of highway access heading in all directions. Train station in the center of town, you'll be downtown Chicago in 40 minutes. Lots of community events. Check out the Keeneyville area (Lake street and Gary Avenue), big lots, heavily wooded rural feel and property still reasonable. Bon fires are common which I like, as is leaf burning I live in one of the original homes in the area.

Pretty neat area, also very dark at night. You'd never guess this area existed so close to everything...lot's of dining, fine and other.

Default Roselle is nice

Roselle is a great area with nice homes. I prefer Itasca as it is a little more affluent. The train from Itasca is a little closer than Roselle by 10 mins to get downtown, same line.

Roselle has more condo development downtown while Itasca is more established single family areas. Whether in Itasca or Roselle you will do fine, but Itasca is closer to the city of the two.

Hi donna!

I'm living in Roselle, and I can tell you that, so far, it's a great city! I'm from paris and I think Roselle is a really nice suburbs. Maybe not the better but a really good one. The only bad things is for going in chicago, it's kind of far but it's ok, I can live in a house for a small price!

Are you gonna move in roselle?

Roselle is horrible, except for a privileged few. If you have a decent job and want to be a suburban commuter you'll be fine, but this is a typical suburb with incomplete sidewalks, strange patches of unincorporated land (sometimes varying by the adress, i got ran off the road once by a bunch of hotshots and the cops took 20 minutes because i was in an unincorporated adress, less than 3 blocks form the local high school!), and a car is a must. There are maybe less than 10 local businesses in Roselle that can be said as doing OK, the streets lead basically nowhere and none of thsi can eb fixed around unincorporated parts. They built a small skatepark in what i guess can be considered the town center, which is host to a chinese place, a tobacco place, a few dinghy bars.. and the rest of irving park is plagued with 3 car dealerships sending a clear message. The apartment complexes are full of shady people, and all of the "parks" are patches of land that the sewer system overflows into because it is old and can't handle long storms. One time I saw kids playing in a pontoon there.
The newest proud addition to Roselle's "main street" is a Starbucks, whose owner is on the board of trustees. The major owns fitness centers and there's one built into the only densely populated piece of land, a 3-5 flood condominium complex so close to the tracks that none are selling and rumors are about of them going for sale in the low to med 100's.

Edit: forgot the important part.. i've lived here 5-6 years
