I am looking for some spots to get food that fall under the thread's parameters. Evanston, Skokie, Glenview, Northbrook, or suburbs close to those please. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

In Evanston you could try Blind Faith Cafe (at Demspter and Chicago), Wild Tree Cafe (on Davis near the post office), and Simple Gourmet (on Elmwood across from the police station). I've always been able to choose some pretty healthy offerings at Lucky Platter (on Main St.) even though the entire menu may not be particularly healthy.

Thanks, I'll keep those in mind.

If you like East Mediterranean/Middle Eastern/Palestinian, you can't go wrong with Pita Inn on Dempster in Skokie.
