I am a single 25-year old mother- contemplating a move to the Chicago-area with my 5-year old son. I will most likely going to be working in the downtown Chicago area - so I am looking for an area that will not cause me to have a horribly bad commute (maybe a 20-25 minute drive in rush hour) yet one with a good school system and one which has a great community/family feel for a young family.

Thanks so much!!

How about Evanston? You can take the train in minutes.

That neighborhood was actually JUST recommended to me by a friend also. Do they have a good school system?

Oak Park. Easy commute into Chicago via the "L" or Metra train.
