Hi,

I recently moved to Lynwood IL and not yet familiar with the area. I'm searching for a waiter position and wondering if anyone knows any good suburbs in IL that has excellent restaurant opportunities (fairly close to Lynwood). I'm close to the Indiana state line but can't serve in indiana due to liquor license complications and Lynwood doesn't have anything. I also tried downtown Chicago but the traffic is too much. I'm looking for upper middle class areas only where I know Tips and clientele will be great. Thanks!

I live in Lynwood as well and we definitely need more eating than Woo Woo's BBQ. Look into Orland Park for restaurants. It's a bit of a drive but...yeah. I-80 shouldn't have too much traffic west of Kedzie.

Welcome to the South Suburbs!

Orland and Tinley Park are the top contenders. I-80 can get nightmarish at rush hour near Harlem/La Grange Rd but working restaurant hours you should be OK.

Well, living in Orland and being a server, I gotta tell ya - it's pretty okay out here. There's tons, I mean tons, of restaurants to choose from. There's no shortage of clientele, either. Also, being in Lynwood and all, you may want to look over the border at places like St. John and Schererville, too.

Good Luck.

P.S. Did you move to Lynwood, like, you know, on purpose?
