Provincetown needs a lot of work. I would not advise a move there. There a lot of other newer and safer condos in the same price range.

You are welcome for the information. Feel free to message me for more in detail information.

I love living here, and you should too Good luck.

Out of curiosity, what makes Provincetown so bad? Is there a gang/crime/drug presence there?

Im now looking at a townhome in cch right off crawford ave, around the "Ballantree" subdivision next to flossmoor. It seemed like a quiet area.

The one thing that concerns me is the high property taxes in cch...I heard they shot up 44% last year? Are there any signs of that coming down?

Oh goodness. The taxes did NOT shoot up tremendously. How could anyone afford to live here if that happened?

Provincetown is just not a great place to live because no one seems to be up to any good. I don't think there are "gangs" present. I just really did not like going in there...although Provincetown is improving, I wouldn't advise a move right now.

The subdivision off Crawford is very quiet, not a lot of children, and a nice place to live. I see a lot of seniors. Not set up for children. It is currently undergoing some upgrading / updating. It's really pet friendly there! Nice place for a small dog! There is a huge park over there where your dog can be SUPERVISED, leashed or kept close to you while they run off some steam. Section 8 isn't welcome.

No Section 8'ers and Seniors sounds like a good deal. I shouldnt have to worry about property values going down then .

I read about the property tax hike here:

This should explain something:

Just a side note: the police in CCH do not play. They have a pretty fast response time.

So what part of town did this double murder occur in anyway? Was it ever solved?

Just thought this was relevant to the thread as well:
Around Town :: The SouthtownStar :: Flossmoor :: Glenwood :: Homewood :: Olympia Fields :: Country Club Hills (http://www.southtownstar.com/neighborhoodstar/homewood-flossmoor/1841744,102509HFaroundtown.article - broken link)

Back to the murders:

This is the north side of the town closer to Markham, which is an area I would avoid at all costs. I would advise a move further south in town. It is more diverse on the south side of the town, that borders Matteson, Flossmoor and I think some of Hazel Crest. Mostly a mix of black and white, very few Hispanics.

Not to beat a dead horse, but even Markham has a lower crime rate than CCH. It has dropped considerably in the last few years.

It is a dumpy place though...well let me just say I would prefer to live here than in Markham.

So disgusting!!!!!! How do you know what a section 8 voucher holder contributes? Seems like you just another person who stereotypes particular races/class and you wonder why a person would react to you a certain way. Especially when someone tells you would never amount to anything because your black or if you hold a section 8 voucher.
