We make a low middle class wage and i would not mind up to a 45 minute commute to work. I could really use everyone's oppinion.

Thanks,
Park Forest, Richton Park. My friend was considering a move to these areas because his children are half white half black. I told him he should move wherever he wants and that should not be an issue wether a black neighborhood or white but i did understand his concerns for his children going either way and not a mixed neighborhood.

Peoria is a 2-2.5 hour drive and isn't a suburb of Chicago and doesn't have any "suburbs" of its own.

Peoria has plenty of suburbs for its size including: Peoria Heights, East Peoria, Bartonvillem Morton, Washington, Dunlap, and so forth.

A good place for interracial couples is Hyde Park, Chicago. Its not a college town, but it is a college neighborhood with racial diversity.

Here is the year 2000 stats for Hyde Park, Chicago. I know its a little outdated, but I been to the neighborhood plenty of times and it still seem the same.

White-43.5%
Black-37.7%
Hispanic-4.11%
Asian-11.3%
Other- 3.39%

And there are similar neighborhoods like this on the Northside and various suburbs.
