Is it going in or still in debate stages? Anyone know about the town itself? Small town, or big. Looking into driving down around there someday soon. Just doing research now.

About a year ago, I moved to Bourbonnais which is about 10 min. south of Peotone and is (home of the Bears) I would have to say the schools are great and being a criminal justice major statistically, the crime rate is extremely low, if any. Its mostly white where I live, and just a few of us hispanics but we never have any problems. Kankakee town has more hispanics although, I haven't seen many puerto ricans it doesn't matter as long as people are treated with respect. Theres a mall with major department stores and plenty of other stores and also a new performing arts theater and a few different movie theater locations. Theres a childrens museum which is free on Thursdays and a large park next to it with a petting zoo, that holds lots off events.Theres also a water park near the community college. If your interested in this area I will be happy to share other great stuff about the area. If there were a statistical study to be conducted on these communities, I believe that the Bourbonnais community would fall in the top 10 for the state of Illinois. I love living out here everything its so convenient for everything, and its a good place to raise a family.

Not to sure about the airport, and neither is anyone else who I've spoke with its been rumored for maybe seven years already. I would do research on the internet google 'plans for peotone airport' and see what you can come up with, or maybe talk to one of the village's board members.

The airport will go in, just going to take time to work its way thru the system, still 3-4 years away.

JMO, but Kankakee County is the most overlooked region in the Chicago area.

Default Politically driven Peotone airport

There has been so much misinformation about the proposed airport at Peotone, actually on the drawing board since 1968. To view the real scoop, check out the following: http://360.yahoo.com/noairport2000 or http://chblog.ozarkattitude.com
