St. Charles and Geneva look down on Batavia like it's some low-class run-down slum when it isn't. All three of those suburbs are essentially the same town, except the other two have more of an attitude.

Bolingbrook also gets a bad rep, I've never viewed it as "ghetto." And also, I always felt like in the Tri-City/Aurora area that North Aurora and South Elgin always get the shaft. They're not quite "good enough" to be considered the Tri-Cities but they don't have the "this suburb is so horrible!" reputations like Aurora and Elgin. They're just kinda there without an identity.

I think it would be more accurate to say that Batavia has an inferiority complex.

Lake Forest imo has some of the snobbiest people. Lots of North Shore kids regard Evanston as "the ghetto". I would say Calumet City gets the worst reputation for crime though. But in reality not as bad as Harvey

People are well aware that Harvey - the murder capital of the region - has more crime than Cal City. IN FACT, part of the reason why River Oaks mall in Cal City gets a bad rep is because it's "so close to Harvey".

Several come to mind. Robbins, Phoenix, Ford Heights, Cal City

I have heard a lot of people down talking Maywood in the past few years.

Not really too familiar with points north but I do recall someone mentioning Park City, IL

.

Ford Heights, this place is like a mini Chicago surrounded by corn fields. Has projects(Rowhouses) and it's so poor it doesnt even have a police department. They rely on the Cook County Sheriff to police their town. Most horrible surburb in Chicago land

It's alot of other suburbs who are just a few steps below Ford Heights such as:

Harvey
Robbins
Maywood
Markham

Ford Heights is a small Village in Cook County. It is the obligation of the County to provide fire and police services.

didn't they actually have a police force at one time but were forced to shut down because of corruption?
