wowzers

well, at least since you're in a train or bus, you can use that time to read, or listen to music, or sleep.

Well I'm reading subjects that I don't get time to read while at work If I feel too tired, I sleep for sometime but that rarely happens these days. I generally start at around 5:30 in the morning and then come back at 8 in the night.

I'm sure there's plenty of people here that have the same time commute but are stuck behind the wheel of a car. I've always maintained that I'd rather spend 2 hours on the bus than have to drive for an hour, because I can zone out as much as I want on the bus. But that's just me.

I fully agree. Plus sometimes you can meet people of the opposite sex (or the same sex if you like that) or people to have an interesting conversation with.

If anything, public transit is great for people watching.

that's pretty much the reason i'm considering taking the metra as well.

Plus, driving will add much more variability to the commute time (i.e. accidents, construction, bad weather)

Default Commuting from Evanston to Schaumburg

Hi,

For about 3 months, I need to travel from Evanston to Motorola at Schaumburg. I was wondering if there is a cost-efficient way of doing it. I checked to see if there's a public transit available through Google Maps but it says the final travel is using a car. Can someone please advice me?

Thanks

It was for Arlington Park before. This time it is for Schaumburg. The one on RTA website is not giving me the required info but keeps saying it could not find anything... Sorry about that... I am not sure if someone actually answered even for the Schaumburg location... I will check that now...

Ah... found one:

Take PACE BUS # 250
Departat 06:38 AM DAVIS & BENSON
Arriveat 07:22 AM DES PLAINES METRA BUS STOP (N)

Take METRA UNION PACIFIC NORTHWEST LINE
Departat 07:44 AM DES PLAINES METRA
Arriveat 07:56 AM ARLINGTON HEIGHTS METRA

Take PACE BUS # 696
Departat 08:00 AM:NORTHWEST HWY & EVERGREEN
Arriveat 08:28 AM:MEACHAM & DRUMMER/MOTOROLA (N)
Walk 0.2 mile W to MOTOROLA - SCHAUMBURG

If only I knew how far it is to walk from Arlington Heights Metra to the Northwest Hwy and Evergreen intersection... I will go there once and see...
