Very wealthy, very safe, nice rolling hills in areas, close to everything, etc.

I live and breath Barrington.

The greater Barrington area encompasses about 100 square miles and resides in 4 counties, Cook, Kane, Mc Henry and Lake. There is the Village of Barrington, No. Barrington, Lake Barrington, South Barrington, Unincorporated Barrington, Barrington Hills, Deer Park, Tower Lakes, Timber Lake and Inveness. All of these communities are independent, although they share some common services and sometimes school districts.

There is a perception that the Barrington area is very wealty and of course parts of it are. It most certainly is not true of the overall area. Housing stock ranges from basic entry level to Leave it to Beaver sub divisions to the historical district to horse property to Mc mansions and then trophy mansions.

Rolling hills, private lakes and an abundance of nature can be found in the area, about a 45 minute express train from the city.

What specific questions do you have?

A once northshore town that scientists think moved westward thousands of years ago due to plate movements.

This is by far the best description of Barrington. Ever.

I grew up in B-Town in the 70's - what a great childhood. The Wonder Years.
By the way: A northshore town would never move to the suburbs!!

My sister lives in Barrington. Nice place! The Newcomers club was a great way for her to meet people when they moved a few years ago.
