Top 5 suburbs by region (North, West & South) (Chicago, Naperville: price, budget)

Name your top 5 suburbs for each region regardless to how you feel about the area. I don't know enough to form a list on my own but I'm pretty sure you guys will not only enlighten me but anyone else looking into either region.

I'm not looking for a particular price point or budget, I'm just curious as to what you consider the top 5 for each region.

West *starting from the closest to Chicago > La Grange, Hinsdale, Wheaton, Naperville, St. Charles

For me, in the west, it would be Oak Park, Elmhurst, River Forest, Hinsdale, Wheaton (or Glen Ellyn).

North Evanston, Highland Park, Arlington Heights, Barrington, Libertyville

I guess you could chop the south into "South Suburbs", "Southwest Suburbs", and "Northwest Indiana".

I do think you need to at least divide Northwest Suburbs from North Suburbs, though. No one considers Arlington Heights and Barrington "Northern Suburbs".
