Who knows... It probably depends on which exact statistics/data they pulled.

All of the top 10% schools in the suburbs are great - and I'd send my kids to any of them. I don't worry too much where we land on the rankings.

Yes, I wondered why Hinsdale Central was not included but South was (also a good school but has a lower ranking). Last I checked (last year really) HCHS was in the top ten. Can someone check

These rankings, like US News, are ridiculous. One year, US News gave one of the worst High Schools a bronze medal. I wonder if these are fudged.

In my opinion after looking at both methodologies, US News has some merit in terms of the "Gold", "Silver", and "Bronze" ratings, but not so much in the numerical ranking. And as another poster pointed out, they omit some schools from the rankings for ridiculous reasons. They should just give the "medals" to the schools and stop there.
Newsweek's rankings are total garbage.
