My Family is considering moving to the North Suburbs of Chicago. I was wondering what the cheapest place would be below $ 300,000?

housing in the chicagoland has really gone through the roof the past decade or so
so finding a home in a good community could be a real stretch.

I, personally do not know much about the north suburbs. you may have to go quite a bit north to find housing under 300k.

I'd search towns/cities in IL in the area you want to live and check them out in the IL city data pages
Illinois Bigger Cities (over 6000 residents)

that is quite a bit of good information in there.

You could try Round Lake, although I've heard some parts of Round Lake can be sketchy. If you are willing to go far North, Antioch is supposed to be nice and fits your budget.
