We're new to the area, and I'm hearing different opinions from the neighbors (who don't have kids in attendance at either school). I'm told that St. Ray's is a "yuppy" school but St. Emily's isn't as good academically. Any feedback from parents who are actually sending their kids? Much appreciated.

Yuppy Mt Prospect is an oxymoron.

The neighborhood around St. Raymonds is laid along a more tradtional pattern with the downtowm Mt. Prospect "grid" but it really is not particularly "urban"...

It is not easy to compare the academic performance of any private schools as there is not a whole lot of information about school performance released by private schools.

My strong belief is that in desirable suburban areas the reasons that parents choose private schools is more about the social aspects of the schools vs any weakness in the curriculum...

If the choice is purely academic, D57, D26 and Prospect HS are very solid, no need to send kids to private school!!
