Where to meet people? (Highland Park, Deerfield: salon, home, theatre)

Hey everyone!

My wife and I moved up here about a year ago, but have just gotten settled. We are 25yo, no kids, living and working in Deerfield...so it seems like most people around are older that us with young kids. We are trying to figure out where we could meet people our age? Any suggestions? We are not the clubbing type. TIA

Newcomers & Neighbors of the Deerfield Area (NNDA) was founded in 1949 (as The Newcomers Club of Deerfield) to foster friendship among its members and others in the community, to create a civic interest in our community, and to acquaint newcomers with the advantages of Deerfield.

Fifty-seven years later, the organization is still providing opportunities for all in the community and has expanded its membership to include Bannockburn, Highland Park and Riverwoods. Special events are held monthly in the form of day and evening programs. Neighbors who like gardening like to have neighbors who like gardening -- whether it is flowers or veggies two plots are more interesting than one.

Dog owners love to wave to other dog owners when out walking, though in the cold we've had lately there is not much motivation to stay out and chat.


Big one is the obvious -- have a kid, once you're out with the stroller you'll know everybody else with kids.

I got the same issue, all the neighbour around us are like my parents ages, or at least 20 years older than us. Does any one knows if there is anytime simliar organization in oak park?
