We're job relocating and would like advice on apartments around Romeoville, Crest Hill, Lockport, New Lenox and any other nearby towns. Looking for a 1 bedroom not more then $1000/month until we can sell our house and then buy something. We're from northern burbs so not very familiar with southern and western burbs.

Check out Weber and 55 area which is Romeoville(Weber, south of 55). There is Remington and Highpoint near there. If you are looking in Bolingbrook, there is a complex on Boughton and Whitewater but I have heard they aren't that cheap. Plainfield may have rentals but they don't have a lot of apartment complexes, you would be luckier with a house/townhouse but you are looking closer to a minimum of $1200. You can find more options in your price range in Joliet and Crest Hill. The only part of Joliet I would absolutely avoid is the East side. Maybe also look into Woodridge(you might get lucky around Seven Bridges), New Lenox, Homer Glen, East side of Aurora, and maybe Naperville. Keep in mind I am giving you a good radius of towns. For $1000/month for a 1 bedroom apartment your best options with be Joliet, Crest Hill, Romeoville, Bolingbrook, and Woodridge.

If you would like a more detailed search please let me know and I can see what is out there.
