Why Orland Park? There are a great many homes that may deliver "more for your money" in towns that are adjacent to Orland Park and depending on where you work may even result in a better commute. I assume if you were a municipal employee that was required to line in Orland Park you'd know which suburbs have homes in your price range , but I don't think the town has any such restrictions...

Don't get me wrong, there are some homes in Orland Park itself that are listed in the range you cite, but the vast majority of homes are listed below the range and it is well know that buying at the top of a price range is rarely a smart move...

What qualities are you looking for in a place to live? The majority of homes in Orland Park are located in moderately sized "twisty streets & cul de sacs" type subdivisions, most of which have few characteristics to distinguish them from each other. Adjacent towns have a wider variety of settings -- some are quite heavily wooded, others have considerably larger lot sizes, a few towns that are within easy commuting distance have a more traditional layout with pedestrian oriented grid of streets / sidewalks and a core that is centered around a commuter rail stations (though Orland Park technically has a commuter rail station it is neither the focus of town nor particularly walkable...).

Need to know about where you work / what you want.

If I suggest parts of Hinsdale and work is south of I-80 that won't be helpful nor would it be helpful to suggest Mokena if you are looking for a older more mature community...

Go big or go home. How much square footage is a large home?
