Maybe closer to lower middle than middle, IMO. The school systems around there just aren't indicative of a middle class area.

Mostly, middle class. Some upper class and some lower middle class. And BTW: There are a significant number of whites in South Holland too.

I'm not debating that there are a significant number of whites that live in South Holland but I wanted to clarify with what I believe to be true. I doubt you'll find a significant number of younger or middle aged white families settling down in South Holland any longer. I get the feel that the majority of the white population in that town are older, primarily Dutch, empty nest couples that just don't see any reason to move now that their kids are out of school and the town is still quite safe. Case in point, look at Thornwood High School's data, 93% black and 6% hispanic.
