I live in the nw suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. I'm in the process of selling my condo that has one assigned spot. A few years ago while I was living there, I got married, so I purchased a second spot for my new husband. Now that we've moved to a single family home, the problems this second spot is causing is a migraine like you would not believe. The attorneys can't agree on anything, and I'm afraid the whole sale is going to fall through because of it. I have someone who wants to buy it at $15,000 and I agreed to that offer, but once his attorney got involved, he started making things so complicated. He wants a title company insurance on it, which, my attorney and the association say is not necessary. I'm willing to go along, just to get this sale pushed through and not lose $15,000. My next worry is that he is going to want me, the seller, to pay all fees, including his own. We've run out of time because since it is not a deeded spot, only assigned, we cannot sell it after the sale of the condo, which is in a week. So, we are desperate but also angry and frustrated in feeling that this other attorney is taking advantage of our situation. Any thoughts on this??
