I've had my eye on quite a few nice, newly constructed townhomes in the Aurora area. These typically include the double garage and are attached dwellings. I did not see anything about a small fenced yard in the back. Do any of you guys know if these types of homes have some type of small fenced area in the back? The reason would be for 2 small dogs to have their own area without constantly having to be put on a leash.

It really depends on the builder. I know a couple families in Aurora in townhomes: one has a yard, the other doesnt.

Default No Fences

Most townhomes in the suburbs don't have fenced in yards. You may want to look into a duplex - where you will be able to do whatever you like in the yard. In my townhouse complex, they don't even allow dogs to be staked out in the yard.

The townhomes I like are these New Townhouse Aurora/Naperville Boarder (broken link)

I see those don't have small fenced in areas, but would like something similar to that where pets are allowed. If it were up to me, there would be no dogs, but that's another story. I just don't want to give up living in a nice townhouse to have to buy an older home just for a yard.
