Like it or not, Batavia still plays 3rd fiddle to the more developed Geneva and STC.

I just think that it's unfair because it really doesn't make much sense. Hopefully, with time, that will go away and people will see that all three towns are in fact equal.

They are not equal in many respects. St. Charles is nice. I'll leave it at that.

Default The FACT that they are "not equal" is NOT A BAD THING...

Batavia has DIFFERENT traits than St. Charles which has DIFFERENT traits than Geneva. One is on a train line, the other two are not. Each has DIFFERENT housing prices, schools, shopping districts.

Once upon a time I had a client that wanted to buy a condo. He wanted it in a SPECIFIC part of Chicago and he was willing to pay only a modest sum. We saw a unit in a building he thought, based on the address, would be PERFECT. When we got to unit and went to the windows he was VERY disappointed that he could not see much of the Lake or any parks. There was also a unit that was identical in size / layout but significantly higher up. The seller, predictably, wanted MUCH more money. My client was upset, initially saying "They should be equally valuable" and I had to correct him and note that EVEN HE MUCH PREFERRED the views of the Lake and parks from higher up. Now MAYBE if he was sight impaired the units WOULD have been "worth an equal amount TO HIM" but for normal resale even being an extra 35 feet off the pavement makes otherwise identical condo NOT EQUALLY VALUABLE, so those DIFFERENT TRAITS make DIFFERENT towns UN-EQUALLY valued...

Makes sense???

Judging by your... um... angry, post, something I gleaned is that they should all just be appreciated for different reasons, as they all have their strenghts, and aren't necessarily better than one another.

I find it quicker to use CAPS than bold to ephasize point -- not angry, just emphatic...
