I recently seen a house for rent in joliet and need to know if anyone knows the area of E Cass St and N Collins St. Just wanting to know what the area is like.

The area is mostly black/ hispanic. The intersection you listed is VERY close to downtown Joliet, which is fine during the day, but I dont drive there at night!! Unfortunately, anything within a 3-5 mile radius from the core of downtown Joliet isnt so great safety wise, which is why the rent tends to be lower.

If you can afford it Plainfield suburb is a safer bet. Plainfield isn't terribly expensive at all but a tad more than Joliet. Plainfield (district 202) schools are better and Plainfield has a better reputation. It's the suburb next to Joliet and it borders Naperville.

Oswego is good too. It borders Plainfield.
