Hi, My son will be starting at UTI at Glendale Heights in the middle of Sept and I've been trying to find an apartment for him and probably 1 to 3 roommates. I've called several of them ( Willshire Towers, Stonegate, Deer Glen, and York Tree) and some don't rent to students, don't rent to anyone under 21, don't rent 2 bedroom apartments to uti students, only 1 bedroom, etc. He wanted to be fairly close so he could walk to school but from the looks of it, that's not going to be possible. I've never been to the area and I was wondering how the traffic and the roads are. Are there traffic jams on the streets around that area? Are there areas to stay away from? And if anyone knows of apartments to rent in nice neighborhoods around there, I'd really appreciate any help. We're from rural MO and have no idea on what to expect. Thanks, Momac

My son is starting at UTI September 17th. We live about an 70 miles west and he too will be moving. We have had the same trouble finding apartments. We have been. The area is very suburban as far a traffic goes. The school is on a fairly busy road but not too bad. It is very close to I-355 (major toll-way) and RT 64, a 4 lane hi-way. Stonegate is the closest and according to UTI where a majority of their students live but they only rent 1 bedroom to UTI students. The rooms are small by my standards, maybe 10x12 or 11x 14 tops. I guess many of the students share the bedroom but it's 800$ a month and electric is not included. Have you contacted the relocation service used by the school? Relocation Central 1-630-355-1100x 229? or cbrown@relocationcentral.com?

Why don't you guys just not mention that they are students at uti to the landlords?? My parents live near UTI and there is pretty much no traffic around that area.

Also check craigslist for Apt's...plenty of them listed (glendale heights, bloomingdale area)

I just did a quick search on craigslist and found some 2 b/r's for around $900 in the area
